Discovering Justice is seeking volunteer jurors to support incredible Boston & Chelsea middle schoolers as they try cases before federal and state judges and juries made up of community members.

When:
Tuesday, December 12, 2017.
5:00 – 5:30pm Arrival & refreshments for jurors/judges. PHOTO ID!
5:30 – 5:50pm Seated for brief program with keynote speaker
5:50 -7:00pm Transition to assigned courtrooms for the mock trial!
7:00 – 7:30pm Reception downstairs w/food and drinks

Silver Lining Mentoring

Silver Lining Mentoring is the only mentoring organization in Massachusetts that exclusively serves youth in foster care. They are currently in need of dedicated, caring adults to become Life Skills Mentors to youth with foster care experience. You don’t need a special background to be a mentor, just a desire to be a supportive, consistent presence to a child who needs a stable adult figure.

Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative mentoring program

The Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative is launching their mentoring program, Stronger Leaders Brighter Future, this year and they need your help.

They are looking for caring adults (21 years or older) to help achieve these goals by supporting their 8th – 12th grade youth in the Dudley Village Campus (“DVC”) through a one-to-one mentoring relationships.

You will (1) serve as a role model, (2) build a lasting relationship, (3) help your Mentee with their motivation and self-esteem, and (4)guide them in setting and accomplishing their goals, with the support of DSNI.

DSNI is asking for mentors and mentees to meet 4-6hrs/month or 1hr/week, including monthly group sessions, from January to June.
