Mo Cowan Appointed Interim US Senator

On January 30, 2013, Governor Deval Patrick appointed former MBLA President William “Mo” Cowan as interim United States Senator, filling the seat left vacant by Senator John Kerry.  The MBLA congratulates Mo Cowan on this historic appointment.

On June 26, 2013, Senator Cowan delivered his farewell address from the floor of the United States Senate to mark the end of his tenure.  Senator Cowan expressed his deep gratitude to his fellow colleagues and thanked the people of the great Commonwealth of Massachusetts for the honor to serve on their behalf.

    The MBLA 2017 Annual Meeting, at which Officers and Directors will be elected, will be held on Tuesday, April 18, at the Boston Bar Association, 16 Beacon Street, Boston, MA 02108 at 6:00 p.m. The MBLA is now accepting applications for Officer, Director and Board Committee leadership positions for the 2017-2018 administrative year. Application materials for elected positions must be submitted by Friday, April 7, at noon EST. For appointed positions, the submission deadline is Friday, April 21, at noon EST.
