Since 1973, the Massachusetts Black Lawyers Association (MBLA) has provided a valuable network and visible presence for attorneys of color within the Massachusetts legal community. The MBLA is responsible for providing its membership professional development and career advancement through trainings, continued education and mentorship programs. The MBLA also sponsors forums on current topics of interest to persons in the legal community, and seeks collaborations with other bar associations and professional organizations, particularly in interest of providing services to the communities of color.

LAW STUDENT MENTORING PROGRAM!

An important goal of the MBLA is to increase the number of successful black lawyers in Massachusetts.  MBLA attorney mentors offer guidance, support and mentoring to students which will provide soon to be young black lawyers a smooth transition into their legal careers. 

  • Law Students:  If you would like an Attorney Mentor, contact us at mentor@massblacklawyers.org.

  • Attorneys:  Please become a mentor!  You will have the opportunity to be the mentor you wish you had when you were in law school and help to enrich the black legal community.

 

MBLA BOOK SCHOLARSHIPS: 

  • MBLA is awards Book Scholarships to two students enrolled in a Massachusetts Law  School.  Applications are accepted in the Fall.  Read more on our Law Students Page.
