National Bar Association: Virtual Town Hall Discussion on “Ferguson and Beyond: The Crisis of Race and Policing In 2014” – December 18, 2014

On Thursday, December 18, from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. EST national civil and human rights partner organizations, including African American Policy Forum, Amnesty International, Hip Hop Caucus, Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, Muslim Advocates, National Bar Association, Inc., and Rainbow PUSH Coalition, on behalf of the Civil Rights Ferguson and Police Reform Coalition will host a Virtual Town hall discussion on combatting police misconduct and brutality, the newly released racial profiling guidance by the Department of Justice and possible solutions.

Councillor Jackson chairs hearings on Diversity in Higher Education

This Friday, December 19th, Councillor Tito Jackson will convene the first of a series of hearings to inquire on the state of diversity and inclusion in area colleges and universities. The hearings will begin with testimony from Boston University, the largest higher education institution in Boston, the third largest employer in the city, and the alma mater of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Volunteer as Holiday Elves with the MBLA and Project Hope – December 20, 2014

Dress for Success is a non-profit organization that promotes economic independence by providing women with professional attire and career development strategies. In support of Dress for Success, we are asking attendees to donate a new or used women’s handbag or a check made payable to Dress for Success.
